Report from the town of Ambarès
Bernard Audry, president of the FFPMI North Aquitaine, publishes a small ad for a report on Ambarès in the Facebook group.
A communications agency in Levallois Perret is looking for a photographer who could produce a short report on Ambarès to enable them to illustrate the real estate project guide from a promoter in the region.
After taking the necessary information, it is necessary to photograph only a few of the key points of the town of Ambarès, such as the town hall, the library, the cultural center, etc. The problem is that it must be done very quickly. And in the case of "quickly," in addition to taking the pictures and processing them, you must also add the negotiation with the town hall regarding the right to use and distribute the pictures. It's difficult, but not impossible...
My proposal is accepted. I start contacting the town hall and checking the weather forecast… Not much choice, there will only be one day of good weather in the next two weeks and that's the day after tomorrow. The window can't be neglected or there will be no more room to catch up. Too bad for the permits, I'll negotiate the rights after the shooting.
Two days later, I'm in Ambarès at 9:00 a.m. The weather is cold and gray. It's market day, and the fairground workers are freezing. There's even a charming rum vendor who offers me a tasting to warm me up. The sun hasn't yet come out, and I'm starting to doubt the merits of my visit.
To pass the time, I'm going to take some photos of the (very small) market and then head to the town hall to start doing some reconnaissance. Unfortunately, the sun won't appear until around eleven o'clock, almost two hours wasted.
Photos of the town hall, the library, the cultural center, the city center (once the market is over), the church, Kelheim Park (green space in the city), the train station from which you can go to Bordeaux or Libourne), then a little further the sports complex, the La Blanche lake and finally the banks of the Garonne and Dordogne because Ambarès is located at the confluence of the two rivers.
The report is in the box and the light is starting to fade. The (cold) wind has started blowing again, I'm not going to wait for sunset to take the cliché photo of the red sun behind the fishing pontoon, firstly I'm freezing, secondly it wasn't requested by the communications agency, it's time to return to Périgueux.
