Romanticism is not dead!
Off to Chancelade to do a real estate feature for Céline Cordeiro of Espaces Atypiques Dordogne. For once, the feature isn't at the other end of the department but just a minute from my home, and that's quite surprising!
At no point did I imagine that this kind of property could be hidden in that place, yet it's not for lack of having passed by it a number of times.
After passing through a gate and following a driveway, you arrive at the foot of the castle. A small parking area allows vehicles to be parked in the shade of the trees. The building is imposing yet possesses a captivating charm; its architecture is romantic, with numerous and relatively large windows that flood the spacious, wood-paneled rooms with light. The tower lends the castle a noble, almost Hogwarts-esque air with its immense, staggered stained-glass windows. Seven hectares of parkland surround the castle, and a tree-lined avenue leads to an outbuilding which, with a little work, would make a lovely guest house or even a comfortable holiday cottage.
The rooms are, of course, enormous, whether it be the living rooms, the dining room, the numerous bedrooms and the office…
There is only one room that is not in line with the others in terms of volume: the kitchen.
It stands out a bit from the rest with its modest size.
