Wow, this is just an incredible report! When I started this job, I never would have imagined that it would lead me to such a place. A real troglodyte house perched against the cliff of Beynac, just a few meters from the castle. The view of the valley is certainly incredible, but so is the house...
As soon as you enter, your eyes widen... A path that descends slightly to the entrance gate. A small climb and hop! Arrival on the panoramic terrace. Just WOW! Well, that's not all, we're here to work, not to look at the panorama, as exceptional as it is. We enter through the large French window and there BAM! Second slap... The living room is fabulously beautiful. This mixture of stone and wood is an architectural marvel.
This room is very large and, of course, extremely bright. To the left, a large opening in the rock leads to the kitchen, which is arranged in two cavities: the first, smaller one contains the sink, and the second is the kitchen itself. A few steps lead to a shed, also dug into the rock. Other steps provide access to a very narrow alleyway leading to the bathroom. I'll let you look at the photos; it will save me from having to describe what is indescribable. To the right of the small alley, a few steps provide access to the bedrooms on the one hand, and to an astonishing office accessible by pulling in your stomach and climbing a ladder, back against the rock... The light in the office comes from a daylight well.
The upstairs bedrooms are spacious, bright, and enjoy fabulous views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The first bedroom has a small terrace that leads to the separate studio (which could easily be converted into a third bedroom). A panoramic hallway leads from the first bedroom to the second.
The whole thing is truly charming. If you're looking for an unusual property, you'll be in luck!
I should point out, however, that the aerial photographs were taken by your servant, a certified drone pilot, under prefectural authorization. Without this authorization, Beynac cannot be flown over.
